Routine Maintenance Inspection
All Capstan intruder alarm installations comply with Standards BS EN ISO 9001:2000 and
the requirements down by the National Security Inspectorate (NSI).
If the system is connected to ARC it is a Police and NSI requirement that the
system must the subject to two inspection visits per annum, However, systems without
remote signalling (bells only) require just one visit. Calls are pre-booked by Capstan
and notified well in advance to give clients the opportunity to contact us, if the
prearranged date is inconvenient.
During the maintenance visit, the intruder alarm is tested to ensure that it is
functioning correctly. Any developing fault found would be rectified accordingly at no
charge other than for replacement components which are outside the 12 month guarantee
period. An important feature of the inspection is the checking of the batteries and
fuses within the system, which are replaced as necessary free of charge.
A further advantage is that our emergency service
department is available 24 hours a day with attendance within 4 hours if required. All
our engineers are equipped with on board portable computers, which relay real-time
information relating to your service requirements.
Details of the visit are then instantly relayed back to our control centre.
Optional extended warranty contract provides free service for the maintenance
of the intruder alarm system 24 hours a day, to include parts and labour.
Insurance: It may be a requirement of your insurance that your system is covered
by a routine maintenance contract, for which you may be eligible for a discount on your
contents insurance cover.
